紐西蘭懷卡託大學代表亞太區域卓越中心從2018年起推行「Te Hononga-ā-Kiwa」計畫，以提升毛利企業在國際間的參與、能力和認知，同時促進毛利企業在亞太地區的參與，13日來到原住民族電視台及原住民廣播電台參訪。計畫負責人Nathan認為毛利人與台灣原住民族有許多相似的地方，都與大地有所連結，就像是家人一樣。Nathan說：『There's so many similarities between us and out here on New Zealand and indigenous people here in Taiwan. We all love food, we all love our family and it just we all have connection to the land and everything like that. So we're all very similar, so we're all family.(紐西蘭跟台灣的原住民之間有很多相似之處，我們都熱愛食物、家庭，我們都與土地有著密切的連結。我們如此相似，所以我們都是一家人。)』

這趟參訪也讓計畫學員對於台灣原住民族的語言多樣性感到驚奇，同時也認為各族群間的的傳統故事相當特別。Nathan說：『For us today, we learned that there's so many different languages in Taiwan, indigenous languages, whereas in New Zealand alter at all. We only have one indigenous language. So it's amazing to see all the work that is happening here to make sure that each tribe can hear their own stories and news in their own language. So for us to see that, it was really special.(今天我們了解到台灣有很多不同的語言，原住民族語言。跟紐西蘭完全不同，我們只有一種原住民族語言(毛利語)。我們看見這裡所做的每件事情是去確保每一個族群都能夠聽到以自己的語言播報他們的故事跟新聞，這對我們來說非常了不起。對我們來說，這真的很特別。)』

參訪結束後，學員們也帶來一段毛利歌舞，並期許未來有機會前往台灣主要城市以外的地區，深入了解多元的原住民族文化和生活。
